Larpocracy deliberation design research presented at Nordic DiGRA in Turku, Finland!
On May 27, Larpocracy members Sarah Lynne Bowman, PerOla Öberg, and Jon Back from Uppsala University presented their ongoing research comparing deliberative events with larp!
The purpose of this project is to map design and facilitation, moderation, and psychological safety strategies between the two fields to find overlaps for creating larps to develop democratic skills. Stay tuned for more details about the findings with the extended abstract is published!
The Nordic DiGRA conference took place May 26-28, 2025 in Turku, Finland.

The presentation was entitled Live Action Role-playing and Deliberative Events: Comparing Strategies for Facilitation, Moderation, and Psychological Safety and the authors also include Karin Johansson and Annika Waern. Bowman and Öberg will continue to work on this project, which will inform design choices in the theory-informed design workshop.
