97 Poets of Revachol Presentation at Knutpunkt 2026

At Knutpunkt, Larpocracy member Kjell Hedgard Hugaas and his co-designer, Iva Vávrová, gave a talk on how the larp 97 Poets of Revachol (97PR) enabled players to explore and engage in political play through art-making and self-expression.

The talk, titled "97 Politics of Revacho d” drew a full house of attendees. 97PR creates a complicated, messy political landscape reminiscent of those many of us are familiar with in our own real-life contexts. It draws inspiration from real political movements and ideologies, but the design aims to create enough distance so players feel able and safe to explore different political ideologies. Within the political landscape of the larp you will find parties and activist groups that share many similarities with European social democracy, conservatism, nationalism, communism, anarchism, socialism, monarchism, and fascism.

The larp is a 109-player high-production immersive event set in an old, decaying building in the world of Disco Elysium. It is designed by the Rolling Larp Association together with an international team of individual designers. It is a slice-of-life community larp that contains real work, art creation, and self-expression, combined with simulated poverty and social problems. 97PR is a 4-day-long pre-written come-and-play game with timeline-based content, lower transparency, and substantial elements of co-creation.

While the larp is heavily oriented on social realism and delivers a gritty take on the lived experience of people at the very bottom of the socio-economic ladder, it also focuses on the numerous ways in which joy and beauty can emerge through the cracks. The larp was first run in 2024 and is scheduled to run for a fifth and sixth time in the summer of 2026.
